Anxiety is increasingly viewed as a defining challenge of modern life for adults in the United States, according to a recent poll on mental health by the American Psychiatric Association. Mental health experts agreed it鈥檚 not only widespread, but steadily growing.
鈥淚 do think there鈥檚 a lot of anxiety. It鈥檚 something that we鈥檙e seeing increasing over time,鈥� said Sarah Mallard Wakefield, M.D., a psychiatrist with Texas Tech Physicians (TTP). 鈥淚 think it鈥檚 a concern that we need to address as a society and community and not just in a therapeutic or treatment framework.鈥�
