Abdul Awal

Abdul Awal, MSC, MS

Abdul Awal, Biostatistician of the Clinical Research Institute. His primary role includes design and analysis of statistical hypothesis for scientists’ collaborating with the Clinical Research Institute. Abdul Awal born and raised in Dhaka, Bangladesh. His academic journey started at the University of Dhaka, where he earned both his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Applied Statistics. Seeking to expand his knowledge, Abdul Awal pursued a second Master's degree in Operations Research and Statistics from New Mexico Tech. Abdul Awal's professional journey unfolded at prestigious institutions, including International Centre for Diarrhoeal Disease Research, Bangladesh (icddr,b) and the BRAC James P. Grant School of Public Health, BRAC University. His research interest aligned with Maternal and Child Health, Infectious Disease, Cancer, Randomized Control Trial and Big Data Analysis. His work reflects a versatile and analytical approach to statistical analysis. He has served as a teaching assistant, imparting knowledge in subjects ranging from algebra, trigonometry, and pre-calculus to statistical methods and probability and statistics. Notably, Abdul Awal served as an instructor for the biostatistics course for three consecutive years in BRAC University and recognized through the "Best Teaching Fellow" award.

Sharmin Sultana

Sharmin Sultana, MSC, MS

Sharmin Sultana, Biostatistician at the Clinical Research Institute, contributing to the statistical design and data analysis for research studies in collaboration with scientists and clinical investigators. Born in her native village and raised in Dhaka, Bangladesh, Sharmin began her academic journey at the University of Dhaka, where she earned both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Applied Statistics. She later expanded her expertise by completing a second Master’s degree in Operations
Research and Statistics at the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology (New Mexico Tech), USA. Sharmin previously worked as an Institutional Researcher at New Mexico Tech, where she developed the ARGOS Banner report to track graduate student milestones, improving academic data monitoring and reporting. She also served as a Research Assistant at the BRAC James P. Grant School of Public Health, BRAC University, supporting public health research and data analysis. Her research interests include sexual and reproductive health (SRHR), disability research, intimate partner violence, cancer research, artificial
intelligence and machine learning applications in healthcare, and large-scale data analytics. In addition to her research and analytical work, Sharmin has experience as a teaching assistant, supporting courses in algebra, trigonometry, pre-calculus, probability, and statistics
