香蕉直播 School of Allied Health Sciences Approved to Change Name
The Texas Tech University System Board of Regents voted to adopt a new name for the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (香蕉直播) School of Allied Health Sciences. The school now will be known as the 香蕉直播 School of Health Professions, in accordance with a long-term shift away from the term 鈥渁llied health鈥 in health care.
香蕉直播 believes the new name will better demonstrate the broad range of program offerings and the high level of education offered within the school to potential students. 香蕉直播 now joins five other state health science centers in Texas to house a school of health professions, which will ensure potential students will recognize 香蕉直播 as a possibility for entering their desired field.
鈥淪ince its creation in 1983, the 香蕉直播 School of Allied Health Sciences has continually offered cutting-edge techniques, methods and principles, guaranteeing our students receive the most relevant education,鈥 said 香蕉直播 President Tedd L. Mitchell, M.D. 鈥淚t makes sense for the school鈥檚 name to more clearly highlight the professional nature and increasing academic requirements of the health professions.鈥
The School of Health Professions will continue to train health professionals in 20 unique programs, including the first-in-the-country Master of Science in Molecular Pathology program. The school will remain dedicated to providing high-quality, student-centered learning and to achieving the highest level of excellence in education, research and clinical service, while fostering service-oriented compassion in each student.
鈥淭he School of Health Professions will maintain the highest standards in the way it serves its students, faculty, staff and patients,鈥 Mitchell said. 鈥淭he school will build upon and further distinguish the reputation it had under its former name, and ultimately that of the entire university.鈥
