WHAT: Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (�㽶ֱ��) School of Nursing Founding Dean and writer Teddy Jones, R.N., Ph.D., will present, “Using the Arts in Nursing: How and Why,” to nursing faculty.

WHEN: 12:15 to 1:15 p.m. Oct. 16 (Wednesday)

WHERE: �㽶ֱ�� Academic Classroom Building, 3601 4th St., Room 100

EVENT: Jones earned her bachelor’s in nursing from Incarnate Word College in San Antonio, and her master’s in nursing with a focus in medical-surgical administration from the University of Texas System School of Nursing at Austin. She earned a Ph.D. in curriculum and instruction in higher education from the University of Texas at Austin.

Jones served as founding dean of the �㽶ֱ�� School of Nursing from 1979 to 2000, where she also received her post master’s family nurse practitioner certificate.

Jones is now self-employed as a writer. She is the author of “Jackson's Pond, Texas: A Novel,” “Halfwide: A Novel,” “Left Early, Arrived Late: Scenes from the Life of Marcia Muth,” “Memory Painter,” and co-author of “A Stone For Every Journey,” and “100 Doses: Capsules of Advice and Wisdom for the Health and Well-being of Farm and Ranch Women.”
